Congratulations to Mrs. Denise Hunter, President and Chief Operating Officer of FAME Assistance Corporation, on her appointment to serve on the National Children's Study Community Advisory Board for Los Angeles and Ventura Counties.
The leading agencies in the study are the National Institute of Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Environmental Protection Agency. It’s the largest long-term study of children’s health in the United States.

Los Angeles, CA - Sunday, September 20th, 2009 marked a momentous occasion for the south Los Angeles community with the grand opening celebration of the FAME So Fresh Produce Market - an open-air market in the West Adams neighborhood offering fresh, affordable produce. The market, which attracted prominent officials and hundreds of local residents, is a result of an inventive partnership between FAME Assistance Corporation, First AME Church of Los Angeles and So Fresh Produce.

"I don't know how to thank everyone who helped make this possible," said Mrs. Denise Hunter the president and chief operating officer of the FAME Corporations, and the force behind the success of the annual event.
FAME Celebrates the Summer Youth Enrichment Volunteers
with a BBQ luncheon
As a token of appreciation to the FAME Summer Youth Enrichment Program volunteers, FAME Assistance Corporation hosted them with a delicious hearty southern style BBQ at the historic FAME Allen House. "What can I render for your service?" said Rev. Vickers who led the group in prayer. He went on to express his deep gratitude to the volunteers on behalf of Reverend Dr. John J. Hunter and the leadership team at the First AME Church of Los Angeles. "The lives of our children have been blessed and enriched by each of you," he added. The BBQ began at 11:00 am and concluded at 2:00pm.
